Thom Cox, guitars

Thom was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and became obsessed with jazz guitar as a teenager after hearing the music of Pat Metheny. In his undergraduate studies at Towson State University, Thom studied classical guitar with Michael Decker, and jazz improvisation with Greg Hatza and Drew Gress. Moving to Boston for graduate studies at New England Conservatory of Music, Thom studied electronic music composition with Robert Ceely. Most recently, he has studied jazz improvisation and repertoire with The Fringe drummer Bob Gullotti, who , sadly, left us way too soon,. Thom has performed in jazz, blues, and rock ensembles. A restless eclectic by nature, he is thrilled to be a member of Fenno Street Jazz where he can bring all of his musical influences to serve a joyous collaborative sonic adventure.
