Bob Salitsky, basses

Bob started his musical journey in the suburbs of Philadelphia during the late 60s and 70s. As a child he studied piano, percussion and guitar before deciding to focus on the electric bass. During high school he founded the progressive rock band Quest and recorded an album of original music. During his college years, Bob discovered the music of Charlie Parker and John Coltrane as well as Pat Metheny and Jaco Pastorius which instigated his life long love for jazz music. Post college, Bob moved to the Boston area where he was an active player in the local jazz and rock scenes. Over the last 40 years, he has performed in a multitude of ensembles ranging from solo performances to combos to big bands in venues running the gamut from the street busking to large concert halls. Bob is currently working on his jazz guitar playing and playing bass out with several ensembles including his latest exciting project Fenno Street Jazz.
